Our Process in Preparing your Book to Self-Publish:
1. You describe your book and service needs, then receive a QUOTE along with information of our book design services.
2. You receive and approve the DESIGN AGREEMENT by making a 75% down payment. 3. PHASE 1- Manuscript Phase (before your manuscript comes to us):
o The WRITING of your manuscript
o The EDITING and proofing (we highly recommend professional editing and proofing. We, too can provide this service)o You PREPARE the Manuscript (MS Word doc) for us to use in formatting your book.
4. PHASE 2 - Formatting Phase:
o You provide us your final, fully edited MS Word doc MANUSCRIPT (or we provide the editing service for additional fee)
o You email book IMAGES as jpg files.
o We design and format a SAMPLE of Chapters 1 & 2
o We email a sample of the formatted pages for approval
o We make ADJUSTMENTS to the format, then FORMAT the remaining chapters
o We both PROOF the PDF for formatting corrections, CORRECT anything and proof 1 more time
o We make any further corrections if needed and provide another proof
o Any text changes after the formatting phase has begun will be billed for "editing" time at our normal hourly rate
o With the "sanity proof" APPROVED we then DELIVER to you the final digital files for printing/and or for the ebook
o For ebook formats, we make the CONVERSION from our "formatted" book document already approved by you, and complete an EPUB validation plus any manual changes required for your book to come out correctly.
o You PROVIDE a cover image, plus front and back cover text copy, and the ISBN
o We DESIGN 1, 3, or 5 concept designs (whichever package to signup for).
o You CHOOSE the desired design and have 2 opportunities for minor revisions.
6. Payment: We email the final invoice with payment required prior to release of the final book files to you via email.
7. Final File Delivery: We email all final files for required for print or ebook.
o the PDF of Interior Pages for print per your printing company specifications
o the PDF Book Cover full layout for print (front, back and spine), prepared per your printing company specifications
o the EPUB and MOBI files for ebooko the JPG file of the book cover for the ebook.
8. Optional Services/Additional Fees: We can assist in UPLOADING FILES for print or to Amazon for Kindle; graphic design of marketing materials; websites; other book services...
